A massive Israeli portal/search engine, this site is unique in its intellectually and culturally oriented content. Find articles or join Hebrew chat groups on subjects as diverse as philosophy, ecology, the Middle East, Israel and Judaism and much more. A special section on poetry and literature features "Shireshet" — Snunit’s poetry site. Chaim Guri, Natan Zach, Nurit Zarhi and other modern day Israeli poets read their own poems. Also provided are biographies, articles and reviews, a poetry workshop and links.

The largest Israeli/Hebrew portal and search engine. Designed in a format similar to Yahoo’s. Conduct your own search, or use Walla’s designated categories: Entertainment and leisure, news, computers and the internet, business and finance, tourism (Israel and the world), shopping and more. Features Israeli and foreign news updates.

An Israeli/Hebrew portal and search engine. Similar to "walla" but with slightly different focus on categories and a fresher design. Conduct an independent search or use Nana’s categories: computers and the Internet, business and finance, news and media, culture and entertainment, leisure and tourism, sports, health, science and education and more. Provides Israeli and foreign news updates.

A diverse (but rarely updated) Hebrew e-zine. In-depth coverage of varied online information. Sections on music, photography, interesting links and more.

Jewish Heritage Online Magazine - www.jhom.com

A monthly Jewish e-zine and a search engine for Jewish-related links. A search for "Hebrew" produces a host of articles relating to the language.

Kol Yisrael’s new call-in radio program on reshet bet. The program is broadcast live in Hebrew from Israel on Wednesday evenings, from 8:00 to 11:00 p.m. EST. Radio personality Elihu Ben-Onn accepts telephone calls in Hebrew from all over the world–and he gets them. Log on and he’ll tell you how to call in.

Research and Scholarship

Rambi — An index of articles on Jewish studies, Rambi is a site posted by the Jewish National and University Library at the Hebrew University. It features a selected bibliography of articles in the various fields of Jewish studies and the study of Eretz Israel. The material is compiled from thousands of periodicals and from collections of articles in Hebrew, Yiddish, and European languages.
